Hello and welcome to “Lola’s Lions”

Hello my name is Samantha – I am a member of the British Rabbit Council, the National Lionhead Rabbit Club and the National Miniature lop Rabbit Club. For a hobby I breed and exhibit Lionhead rabbits and Miniature lop Rabbits. I also show my Guinea pigs in the pet classes for fun.

I am registered under “Lola’s Lions” which is located at a small holding in West Sussex. I try to breed as close as possible to the BRC standard. I am constantly trying to improve and develop my own lines.

Lola’s Lions is not a business or a trading name. It is purely a small animal enthusiast enjoying keeping these furry friends as a hobby.

My initial interest began when I was 4 years old, after I was given a Netherland dwarf rabbit named “Poppy” and a guinea pig called “Blue” by my Grandmother. Ever since then my love for these small animals grew and grew. Now, thirty years later, I desperately wanted some more of these furry friends. My Grandmother, “Lola” started my love for rabbits so it seemed only right to name my stud after her. She too had rabbits as a child but they were Angora.

I went to many Rabbit and Cavie shows to research the various breeds and colour types. This helped me gain more knowledge and understanding of both rabbits and guinea pigs.
It was then I decided the Lionhead, the miniature lop rabbit, the dalmatian and the Sheltie (long haired) guinea pig were to join me and my family.

I am very proud of my rabbits and feel after all my hard work and research, it has all been so worthwhile. I can now introduce more colour variety to my breeding lines which has taken much time, consideration and care to achieve.

The Lionhead rabbits are primarily my favourite as they are simply stunning and beautiful to look at.
